March is Theatre In Our Schools Month! Download a TIOS announcement letter to distribute! It is a chance for us to celebrate and promote the art of theatre and to remind us that theatre is essential in people's lives. The American Alliance for Theatre and Education's Theatre In Our Schools (TIOS) campaign is designed to help promote theatre for youth at all levels all across America. Public Relations, advertising and publicity are used in every aspect of life to promote ideas and to impact people. The Theatre In Our Schools campaign is meant to use all of these means to positively affect Theatre In Our Schools by making the various publics aware of the positive impact that theatre has in our schools. Our theme is "Celebrate Theatre In Our Schools." Think of all the exciting ways that this theme can be used: Celebrate Classroom Drama, Celebrate Improv Theatre, Celebrate Theatre for Young Audiences, Celebrate our High School Theatre Club, Celebrate Reading Plays, Celebrate Our Backstage Crew, etc. Using the theme "Celebrate Theatre In Our Schools," invites your creativity in applying the theme to your particular school situation. Feel free to adapt it so that it best serves you. You'll probably think of all kinds of ways to use the logo and idea. In addition to a list of 2008 TIOS Month Events, this page contains resources to help you celebrate Theatre In Our Schools Month. The first is a list of 25 ways to celebrate Theatre In Our Schools. The second is a page of TIOS logos for you to use in all publications and programs you print. There is also a sheet of logos and bookmarks that you may copy and distribute. Feel free to use them to celebrate TIOS year-round! Please feel free to contact the AATE office if you have any questions or would like a pdf version of the logo pages. Good luck with these ideas and all of the other wonderful plans that you will imagine and implement. Please be ready to share them with us for next year! Happy Theatre In Our Schools Month and we look forward to seeing you at the American Alliance for Theatre and Education's conference in Atlanta, GA this July! |
