Ohio TIOS Mini-Conference
March 26, 2013
Cleveland Play House
Cleveland, OH
Free for all attendees

The Ohio TIOS mini-conference, in partnership with the Cleveland Play House, presents an evening for educators and school administrators that provides participants with the tools to foster a culture of creativity by changing the culture of the classroom and creating a safe and inspiring space. Over the past year, teachers and administrators have encountered many difficulties with creating a positive and productive environment for their students. Social issues, such as bullying, acceptance of differences, cliques and exclusions, cyber bullying, respect, and harassment, are very present in our schools. This mini-conference will explore how theatre can assist in facilitating a positive and productive social and emotional environment that is conducive to learning.

Participants will be re-energized and refreshed as they enjoy:

•             Interactive breakout sessions hosted by artists and educators from Cleveland Play House and other Northeast Ohio Theatres

•             Keynote Presentation from the Director of Creative Therapies from Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NY

•             Networking with fellow teachers and theater educators

•             Complementary Dinner

•             Live performance of GOOD PEOPLE, by David Lindsey-Abaire at the Allen Theatre
