MASTER CLASS A: Dance as Storytelling 

Presenter: Nader Molina
Thursday, July 28 from 9:00am-12:00pm (ET)

$50 per ticket

Participants will explore the traditional CAIMAN festivities that are celebrated on January 20, in Ciénaga, Magdalena, Colombia. Through a mixture of music, dance and theatre, participants will recreate the tragic story of Tomasita and the Cayman. As well as they will explore how history makes tragic events into a great carnival. 


MASTER CLASS B: Teaching the Arts to Spanish Native Speaking Elementary School Students 

Presenter: Teatro Ecas
Friday, July 29th from 12:30pm-3:30pm (EDT)

$50 per ticket

José Nicolás González Soler and Luis Gilberto Martínez García will teach both theater and music appreciation in Spanish.  Mirroring the experience of learning the arts for native Spanish speakers at the Elementary Grades.  See how the arts can make this experience fun, exciting and anxiety free so that you may replicate that experience in your classrooms. These experiences mobilize and empower a critical and constructive spirit and our workshop provides the inspiring tools that intervene to develop strengths to recognize where we come from and where we are heading.  The aim is to stimulate the ability to internalize and perceive how we are linked to our environment and learn to overcome contexts of violence, inequality while affirming equity.

MASTER CLASS C: Social Emotional Learning through Clown and Physical Acting 

Presenter: Studio Playground
Saturday, July 30th from 3:00pm-6:00pm (EDT)

$50 per ticket

Get ready to laugh, sing, and make a beautiful ruckus! This workshop uses physical games and play to explore impulse, kinesthetic response, and empathetic response. Participants will be guided through a series of vocal and physical exercises designed for actor training. Clown is a celebrated form of physical theatre that cultivates range, flexibility, and generosity in the performer. Studio Playground teaches clowning and physical theatre for all ages, integrating core concepts in social emotional learning. Please arrive prepared for a movement workshop. Come play!
