Alexis Truitt

Managing Director

Alexis Truitt prior to AATE spent three years serving as Program Coordinator for the Changing Education Through the Arts (CETA) Program at the Kennedy Center. She holds her Masters in Arts Management from George Mason University and her Bachelors of Music in voice from The Boston Conservatory. She has had the opportunity to intern with the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, English National Opera, and was an Allen Lee Hughes Fellow at Arena Stage. She also volunteers with The St. Mark’s Players, where she has had the opportunity to wear many fun hats--including Board Member, Treasurer, Director of Community Engagement, and presently Artistic Director. Alexis continues loving being a part of the AATE family as a staff member and looks forward to her continued work directly with the membership. 

James Wright
Marketing & Membership Associate

James Wright is excited to be joining the AATE team! Prior to moving to DC, James grew up in Inwood, WV where his passion for the arts and arts education ignited. While in West Virginia James served as a Producer and Education Consultant to a Youth Theatre Workshop, an afterschool program designed to teach students theatre and life skills through staging a production and attending workshops and has also served as a Counselor at various theatre summer camps. He has also served as the Vice President of the Artistic Committee and was a founding member of the Marketing Committee at the Apollo Civic Theatre in West Virginia.  James has a passion for the arts, especially musical theatre, and is excited for the opportunity to learn and work with the members of AATE!

ross the visual arts, performance studies, history, and literature and I began at Routledge in 2016. My background is in cultural studies and the last theatre performance I attended was Fun Home here in Philadelphia where I am based. Professionally and personally I am an advocate for the arts and continue to enjoy my collaboration with AATE.
