She holds her Masters in Arts Management from George Mason University and her Bachelors of Music in voice from The Boston Conservatory. She has had the opportunity to intern with the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, English National Opera, and was an Allen Lee Hughes Fellow at Arena Stage. Katie Putnam
Marketing & Membership Associate

Katie Putnam acted as the Volunteer Coordinator for the 2017 AATE National Conference in New Orleans, and is now the Marketing & Membership Associate for AATE. Prior to moving to DC, Katie grew up in Raleigh, NC. She attended North Carolina State University, where she received her BA in English. After graduation, she taught High School English for a couple of years before pursuing a different career path. Katie moved to DC for grad school, where she got her MA in Strategic Communication from American University. She has a passion for the arts, especially musical theater, and loves working with the members of AATE. Education outreach within the arts community is her prime area of interest, so having the opportunity to connect theater educators with theater professionals is very meaningful. Katie also enjoys updating AATE's social media platforms. Follow us on Instagram!

Caroline Dowden
Volunteer Coordinator

Caroline is a recent graduate of American University, where she received her B.A. in Public Relations and Strategic Communication as well as a minor in Theatre.  In the summer of 2015, Caroline was the Operations Intern where she assisted in preparations for the 2015 AATE National Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Since then, she has grown to be passionate about arts administration and arts advocacy.  She has held marketing and public relations internships at Ford’s Theatre in D.C., New Victory Theater/New 42 Studios in New York, and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.  Caroline is excited to be on the team at AATE this summer, and she looks forward to connecting with artists and educators who are just as passionate about theatre arts as she is.
