Alexis Truitt

Managing Director

Alexis Truitt prior to AATE was the Program Coordinator for the Changing Education Through the Arts (CETA) Program at the Kennedy Center. She holds her Masters in Arts Management from George Mason University and her Bachelors of Music in voice from The Boston Conservatory. She has had the opportunity to intern with the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, English National Opera, and was an Allen Lee Hughes Fellow at Arena Stage. She also volunteers with The St. Mark’s Players, where she has had the opportunity to wear many fun hats--including Board Member, Treasurer, Director of Community Engagement, and presently Artistic Director. Alexis continues to love being a part of the AATE family as a staff member and looks forward to her continued work directly with the membership.


Daniel Dyer
Marketing Associate

Daniel Dyer is a senior at American University pursuing a B.S. in Business and Entertainment. He has acted as both a cast member as well as on stage crew for six high school productions including Anything Goes, Romeo and Juliet, and Tommy. Fine arts have been a major aspect of Daniel’s upbringing, and he hopes to use his experiences and education to pursue a business career in the entertainment industry. 


Arika Thames
Membership Associate

Arika is an actor, deviser, and educator originally from Virginia Beach. She is a recent DC transplant and has spent the last year pursuing a career in theatre education. Recently, Arika was an Education Apprentice at Imagination Stage. It was there that she fell in love with working with young children and began developing her skills in the classroom. In 2019 she received dual degrees in Theatre and Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies from The College of William & Mary. While in school she participated in numerous productions including The Children's HourOur Lady of Kibeho, and Top Girls. She has also combined her interests in theatre education and language acquisition with her work at summer camps in Italy with Educo Italia. Arika looks forward to attending grad school within the next few years to receive her MFA in acting.
