Theatre Everywhere: A Cookbook of Activities

Theatre educators worldwide are facing an unprecedented academic year where learning and theatre-making will happen online due to public health risks. AATE and Westtown School, a forward-thinking K-12 Quaker school in Pennsylvania, partnered up to cook up some ideas.

Alex Ates, Westtown’s director of theater and former AATE board member, spoke with experimental interdisciplinary artists to collect original "recipes" for devising performance in the online classroom. In this cookbook, innovative artists from MIT to NYU offer short, practical, evergreen, multigenerational recipes in videos lasting from 4-11 minutes.

Closed captioning is available for each video, along with PDF transcripts.

This project was made possible by the McLear Artist in Residence Fund at Westtown.
