The LOCI @ ASU Symposium is a multi-day professional development and community-building gathering for artists, educators, cultural workers, and youths engaged in Theatre for Young People and Community-Centered Performance. In a moment of profound political and social urgency —particularly for Black, Latino, immigrant, and other Global Majority communities—this institute asks: How do we sustain, protect, and uplift this work during unprecedented times? Through workshops, performances, staged readings, and shared practice, participants will exchange tools for care-centered leadership, liberatory pedagogy, and artistic resilience. The symposium centers artists working with youth and marginalized communities while inviting allies into intentional, accountable collaboration rooted in solidarity, celebration, and shared responsibility.
