Excursion 1: Mardi Gras World
Thursday, August 3, 2017, 12:45-3 pm

$30
*Transportation is included

When you begin your Mardi Gras World tour, you’ll get an overview of the history of Mardi Gras in New Orleans before our guides take you through our float den, where our artists work year-round to build spectacular floats and props. You never get this close to the floats while they’re rolling in Mardi Gras parades, and this is certainly the only place to see how these amazing pieces come to life each year. When you’re sightseeing in New Orleans or looking for fascinating tours in New Orleans, this is something you just can’t miss. Come see where the Mardi Gras magic is made!

Excursion 2: The French Quarter Creole Tour
Friday, August 4, 2017, 8:45-11 am

$15
*Walking Tour

Our Creole Tour leads visitors through the narrow streets of the French Quarter tracing the settlement of New Orleans through to today.  The tour is rich in Louisiana history but also explains how the land was used and abused, the state's role in the international slave trade, and its value as one of the largest ports in America. Beyond the numbers, visitors will explore Creole culture: the tradition of celebration, music, food, parades. Led by a local historian and experienced educator, this tour is an ideal introduction to New Orleans.

Excursion 3: The Art and History of the Tease
Friday, August 4, 2017, 5:45-8 pm

$20
*Walking Tour

A history of burlesque delivered by a burlesque dancer. Your guide will be festively attired and describe a golden era of entertainment in the French Quarter.  You'll hear about the female forces behind this glittery art form. Learn of legendary venues and the vibe that existed on Bourbon Street. Titillating early evening entertainment releases you in time to enjoy a lot more New Orleans nightlife.

Theater Excursion: Camino Real by Tennessee Williams
Friday, August 4, 2017, 6:45-11 pm
$35
*Includes transportation

Camino Real is Tennessee Williams’ symbolic, expressionistic masterpiece about making it in a world that is seemingly too real for romance and ideals. It takes place in a mythic town square somewhere on the American continent. Transients from all walks of life seem to be trapped there, unable to move on in their own journeys. Are they trapped by their habits? Their demons? Their lovers? When a young man with a fighting spirit enters this purgatorial arena, will he succumb to the allure of the Camino Real, or will he break out, tearing down its walls with him? Find out as he navigates the treacherous police state governed by a huckster-despot, and populated by such characters as Lord Byron, Camille, and Don Quixote!

Camino Real kicks off TWTC's bold third season themed - REVOLT!
